GOAL
The goal of A & V Rebuilding’s, MA
“FleetRenu” program is quite simple. We strive to
provide our customers with a “like new” fleet of tractors
for about half the cost of new equipment. We strongly believe
in the “keep it simple” concept of remanufactured
equipment.
The baggage tractor is more often than not, a
very used and abused piece of equipment. Because of this fact,
we try to keep the tractor as basic and non complex as possible.
All of our tractors are built using tried and trued 300 CI (4.9l)
inline 6 cylinder engines matted to Ford C-6 Transmissions (the
combination which has been the work horse of the industry for
many years). Our standard model comes equipped with a carbureted
Gasoline or LPG powered engine with traditional style electronic
ignition. Our electrical system is color coded and wired through
a circuit breaker protected terminal strip. Our entire rebuild
process is designed by mechanics with ease of maintenance and
simple troubleshooting in mind.
We want to meet or exceed your expectations.
We plan to do this by returning you a “FleetRenu”
tractor that performs to your standards for as long as or longer
than it did in its first life.
BENEFITS
The first benefit you will see from the “FleetRenu”
program is the up front cost, which is about half the price of
a comparable new tractor. After you benefit from your up front
savings, your accounting department will like the program due
to its tax advantages. Unlike a new purchase, which can be depreciated
over time, the entire cost of putting your tractors through the
“FleetRenu” program can be written off as repairs*.
Our program replaces all of the components of
your tractors with rebuilt or new items of the same type. Because
of this, your fleet retains a package of components that in our
opinion is and has been the best option in the industry. Your
tractors are returned to you in “like new” condition,
built with parts that your mechanics are familiar with and your
parts room is stocked with maintenance parts for.
RECAP
“FleetRenu” – “Like-New”
condition, substantial up front cost savings, tax benefits*, built
around original equipment format with like components. How can
you go wrong?
*Consult your tax advisor regarding actual Tax
Benefits and savings.

DISASSEMBLY
Upon arrival at our facility the tractor is thoroughly
steam cleaned and assessed for level of completeness. After cleaning
and assessment, the tractor is completely disassembled and inspected
for damage to major components including frame, drive and steer
axles, engine and transmission. After a thorough inspection, the
tractor is sent to a local facility to be completely sand blasted
to bare metal.
REFINISHING
Once the tractor returns to our facility it is
given a complete coat of self etching epoxy primer to help prevent
rusting. After priming all of the components, any and all straightening
and body working processes are completed. Any frame straightening
and or repairing is also completed at this time. After all repairs
have been completed, the parts are spot primed prior to the final
paint process. At this time all of the components are finished
in your choice of color using a quality Acrylic Enamel or Urethane
Enamel paint.
REASSEMBLY
After the refinishing process is complete, the
tractor is delivered to our assembly shop. Here the tractor is
hand assembled utilizing both new and remanufactured components
(see attached sheet). During the assembly process, the tractor
is hand wired through a terminal strip using no less than 14 gage
color coded wire. All electrical circuits are protected by a self
resetting circuit breaker. After the tractor is fully assembled
and wired, a new set of tires and wheels are installed and the
tractor undergoes our thorough testing and quality control process.
TESTING / QUALITY CONTROL
At this stage the tractor is test run and test
driven for a minimum of two hours. All major components are checked
and adjusted or tightened as needed. Any paint damage which may
have occurred during the assembly process is repaired as necessary
and non skid paint is applied to the step plates. Prior to delivery,
all fluids are topped off, and the tractor is given a final visual
inspection before loading for shipment to the customer.
NOTE: The above is our basic
“FleetRenu” Work Scope and can be adjusted to fit
the needs of a specific customer. These are your tractors and
our goal is to bring your fleet to “Like New” condition
per your specification. Please feel free to contact us with any
and all questions that you may have.
